Car Salesman · Huntsville & Madison County, Alabama

The car you want
probably isn't online yet.

I'm Nate Morris, and I sell cars at Landers McLarty Chevrolet in Huntsville. When a car gets traded in, it sits for a week or two before anybody photographs it and puts it up. Some never get posted at all. Tell me what you're after and I'll check the places you can't get to.

New and used Chevys, trucks and SUVs — and plenty that aren't Chevys — for buyers in Huntsville, Madison, Athens and Decatur, found by a salesperson who's standing on the lot when the trades pull in.

Where these cars come from

Four places you can't look. I can.

Every one of these is a phone call, not a website. That's exactly why they turn up cars nobody else is bidding on.

Source 01

Cars that just got traded in

Somebody trades a car in on Tuesday. It goes to the shop, waits its turn for photos, and shows up online a week or two later. For that whole stretch you have no way of knowing it exists. I'm standing right next to it.

Source 02

The same thing, at other stores

Landers McLarty isn't one rooftop, and Huntsville isn't one dealership. I've got people who'll pick up when I call and tell me what came in this week. That's not access you can buy — it comes from four years of being straight with the folks I work around.

Source 03

People who decided not to trade

Plenty of folks run the numbers, figure they'd do better selling it themselves, and drive home in the same car. They usually mention it on the way out. That car is for sale — just nowhere you'd ever think to look.

Source 04

Customers I've kept up with

I stay in touch with the people I've sold to. Some are quietly ready for something different and haven't listed a thing. Often a text from me is the first move anybody makes on that car.

So you know exactly what you're getting: I'm not a broker, I don't buy at auction, and there's no secret database behind this. I'm a salesperson at a franchise Chevy store. That's not the fine print — it's the whole reason this works. Salespeople are the ones standing there when the trade pulls in.

How it works

Four steps. Only one of them is yours.

01

You tell me what you're after

About three minutes on your phone. No credit check, no Social Security number, and nobody calls you before you're ready.

02

I start making calls

My lot on University Drive, the stores where I know people, and the customers I've kept up with. There's no shortcut to this part — it's a lot of phone calls and knowing who to make them to.

03

You get straight answers

Usually two or three real options with real numbers, side by side. Sometimes only one. And if the smart move is waiting a few weeks, I'll tell you that.

04

You decide

If you want it, I'll handle the paperwork, the financing and your trade. If you don't, you're out three minutes and you know the market better than you did this morning.

Where your information goes

It comes to me. Nobody else.

Most car sites run what you fill out through a lead system. That's not a knock on them — it's how a request gets in front of somebody who can act on it. The trade-off is that your information travels, and you can end up hearing from more people than you meant to. This one doesn't travel. It comes straight to my phone and that's the end of the trip.

Section 01 — What you're looking for

Be as picky as you want. The more specific you are, the better I can match it. "Not sure yet" is a perfectly good answer too.

1.1
Give me something to go on — even a rough idea helps. "Silverado crew cab, black, under 60k" or "something safe for my daughter."
Tell me something about the car so I know where to start.

Section 02 — Your budget

Rough numbers are fine. I'd rather know your real comfort zone than show you something that wastes your Saturday. Nothing here touches your credit.

Section 03 — What you're driving now

If you're trading something in, it changes the math on everything else — so it's worth a couple of quick questions.

Who you're dealing with

Nate Morris, car salesman.

Four strong years at Landers McLarty Chevrolet — my home dealership, on University Drive in Huntsville. Around here we treat folks like family, and I'd be honored to show you why this ought to be your home dealership too.

Whether you're chasing horsepower in a Corvette or you need a truck that can haul and hustle, that's the call I want. I'll be plain about what I am, though: there's no magic to this. I'm standing on a lot when trades pull in, I know people doing this same job at other stores, and you can walk in and find me on a Tuesday.

If what you want happens to be a Chevy, I'd love to hand you the keys myself. If it isn't, I'll start calling around anyway. Let's ride.

Where I search

New and used vehicles across Huntsville and North Alabama.

I'm based at the Chevy store on University Drive, and the search runs outward from there. If you live in any of these towns I can get a vehicle to you — or tell you honestly that the one you're after isn't worth the drive.

Looking for something specific? A used truck in Huntsville. A third-row SUV in Madison. Something dependable under $20,000 in Athens. That's the kind of request this is built for — the more particular you are, the better I can match it.

Straight answers

Questions people actually ask a car salesman.

Are you a car salesman in Huntsville, Alabama?

Yes. I sell at Landers McLarty Chevrolet, 4930 University Drive NW in Huntsville. Most of my customers live in Huntsville and Madison, and I'll come to you if that's easier.

Can you help me find a used car, truck or SUV around Huntsville?

Yes — that's most of what I do. Trucks and third-row SUVs are the two hardest things to find around here and the two I get asked for most. Tell me the make, the miles you'd accept and roughly what you want to spend, and I'll start calling.

Can you help me find a Silverado, a Tahoe or a Corvette?

Those are the easy ones. I sell Chevrolet at Landers McLarty, so if you want a Silverado, a Tahoe, a Traverse, an Equinox or a Corvette I can usually hand you the keys myself. If the exact trim and color you want isn't on our lot, I can generally locate it.

What if the vehicle I want isn't currently in stock?

That's the whole reason this exists. If it isn't on my lot I check the stores where I know people, the trades that came in this week and haven't been posted, and customers who've been thinking about selling. If it genuinely isn't out there right now, I'll tell you that — and tell you whether waiting a few weeks is the smarter move.

Do I have to buy whatever you find? And do you handle trade-ins and financing?

No obligation, ever — sending a request doesn't commit you to anything. And yes to both: tell me what you're driving and roughly what you owe and I'll work your trade into the numbers from the start. If you want financing, that paperwork happens at the dealership when you decide to buy.

What does this cost me?

Nothing. There's no fee to you. I get paid the way any salesperson does — by the dealership, when a car actually sells. If I never find you anything, you never owe me a dime.

Do you only sell Chevys?

Chevrolet is what I sell and what I know best. But every Chevy store takes in trades of every make, so a Toyota, a Ford, a Honda or a Ram can just as easily be sitting on our used lot. And if what you want isn't there, I start calling the stores I know. You'll get an honest comparison, not a pitch for whatever happens to be sitting out front.

What areas do you cover?

Huntsville and Madison County first — Huntsville, Madison, Harvest, Meridianville, New Market, Owens Cross Roads and Gurley — plus Athens, Ardmore, Decatur, Hartselle and Arab. If the right vehicle turns up farther out, I'll tell you what it costs to go get it or have it brought in, and you can decide.

How is this different from Autotrader or Facebook Marketplace?

Those show you cars that have already been photographed and posted. A trade-in usually sits a week or two before that happens, and some never get posted at all. I'm standing on the lot when those cars pull in. I also know people at other stores who'll tell me what came in this week, and I keep up with customers who are quietly ready to sell.

Are you a licensed auto broker?

No, and I want to be plain about that. I'm a car salesman at a licensed franchise dealership — not a broker, not an independent dealer. In Alabama the dealer holds the license, not the salesperson. When a vehicle comes from another store, that dealership is the seller on your paperwork. I'm the person who found it and walked it through.

Do I have to fill out a credit application?

Not to start a search. No credit application is taken on this site, nothing here runs a credit check, and I never ask for your Social Security number on this page. If you decide to buy and want financing, that paperwork happens later, at the dealership.

How fast will I hear back?

Within 24 hours, usually the same day. I'll text you once with what I found. If you want to keep going, say so. If you don't, you won't hear from me again.

Can you help if I owe more than my car is worth, or my credit's rough?

Often, yes — and if I can't, I'll say so instead of dragging you through a Saturday. Tell me roughly what you owe and roughly where your credit sits, and I'll tell you honestly whether the numbers work now or whether you're better off waiting a few months.

Where can I find you in person?

Landers McLarty Chevrolet, 4930 University Drive NW, Huntsville, AL 35816. I'm there most days — walk in and ask for Nate. Texting 931-308-2927 first usually saves you a trip.

What happens to what I type in?

It comes to my phone by text and stops there. It isn't run through a lead system, isn't split between several salespeople, and is never sold. There's no account to create and this page loads no analytics or ad trackers. Text the word DELETE to 931·308·2927 and your request is gone the same day.
